Peter Kent

Peter Kent was born in Great Yarmouth. After a year at Lowestoft School of Art he went to the University of Kent where he studied history. He then taught history in Norwich for eleven years before becoming an illustrator and author. In his career of over thirty years he has illustrated over a hundred books for other people as well as writing and illustrating twenty-five of his own. His books have been translated into twenty different languages and won several awards. This exhibition is partly of architecture and landscapes free from the need to fit pictures to a narrative which is a novel and exhilarating experience for an illustrator.
